K-9 Retreat has been the only 'all day all play' dog boarding facility in Hays county for the past 8 years, where all of our canine guests are free all day both indoors and outdoors. We do not believe in confining our canine guests to small indoor/outdoor runs or crates, preferring instead to treat our canine guests as we treat our own dogs.
We operate an all spayed/neutered dog boarding & daycare facility. The only exceptions are puppies under 6 months of age, dogs with a verifiable medical condition (veterinary documentation required) which precludes them from being spayed/neutered, or show dogs (documentation required).
We require your pet to be current on their monthly flea/tick treatment (flea collars, sprays and powders are not sufficient), Rabies vaccination, annual boosters (DHLPP or similar), and Bordetella (shot or intra-nasal).
In addition, we do not accept American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, or Staffordshire Bull Terriers (all commonly referred to as Pit Bulls).

K-9 Retreat will be closed from Sun., July 23 - Sun., July 30, 2017. We will reopen on Mon. July 31, 2017.
We have simplified our 'refer a friend' program. For each referral, who uses our services, you will receive 1 free night of boarding or a $25 credit that can be applied toward day care, customers choice.
Our motto is 'A Tired Dog is a Good Dog' and those are words we live by here at K-9 Retreat(offering both day care and boarding). No longer will you have to feel guilty about going to work and leaving your dog at home. Your canine family member will get to interact and socialize with other dogs in a safe/fun/active environment while getting a full day of activity and exercise. They will be ready to return home at the end of the day fully content and ready to relax. We want your dog's stay at K-9 Retreat to be fun and safe.
Our facility is situated on 6 acres with multiple play areas, a covered patio with fans and misters and climate controlled rooms. We live on site and have been trained in dog CPR and First Aid. In addition, we are experienced in administering medication for those dogs with special needs.
Our goal at K-9 Retreat is to provide your dog(s) an atmosphere much like they have at home. We pamper your dog(s) as we do our own; therefore, they are given the freedom to socialize and play with other dogs throughout the day without any arbitrary time limits or additional charges. We group dogs by size and temperament, though frequent guests often all play together whether small or large. We can also provide personal one-on-one attention for our guests who prefer not to play in a group environment. In the evenings, it is our goal to provide a social atmosphere for your dog(s) and have a huge 'slumber party' if the situation allows. Of course, if your dog is accustomed to sleeping in a crate in the evenings we can accommodate them with our jumbo sized crates (must be requested by owner).
Reservations can be made online, by e-mail, or phone. However, for an immediate answer to your boarding inquiry it is best to call as we can only respond to online requests as time allows. Further reservation information can be found under the 'Reservation Forms' tab above. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Our inclusive pricing means that we do not charge additional fees for extra play time, food, treats, or for administering medications. Of course all dogs boarding at our facility are automatically included in day care as part of their boarding fee. We also offer extended hours and are open 7 days per week!.
